Personal Statement
I am grateful to have many opportunities to train diversified groups and individuals about the business of ethics. My interest in this branch of philosophy started in early childhood though I did not, then, have a word for how people made decisions and treated others.
At its most fundamental level, ethics is about the decisions we make, the way we act toward one another and the impact we have on the world around us. The study of ethics takes us on an internal journey and asks that we make informed decisions on these actions based on knowing and balancing our highest values so that we "do the right thing." It is my belief that we ought to act as if what we do matters, because it does.
Ancient ethicists as well as contemporary scholars who work in the field suggest that ethics is about aspiring to become our best selves so we can then contribute more fully to the common good. This is an ongoing developmental process with no finish line and ergo I am a believer that ethics can be taught and incorporated into all matters concerning leadership and professional development.
I hope your reading this has given you some insights into my perspective on the foundational aspects inherent in business ethics.
Background
Robbie Glantz has more than 18 years combined as a consultant in human resources, career transition services and business ethics. As a trainer, speaker, and consultant she has worked with groups as diverse as FlightSafety Services Corp., The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Zoe Training and Consulting, Kaiser Permanente, and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. Robbie's background in human resource planning and administration, both in government and private industry, her background in sociology, and her keen understanding of individual behavior, group dynamics, and human resource management enable her to quickly grasp the human and practical side of situations. A well respected and highly rated trainer, facilitator and team builder, Robbie's theatrical background brings alive her presentations and workshops.
